Security at T1 is at each gate. You go through passport control into the airside area with shops and restaurants then only go through security when you go to the gate. Overall less stressful than a huge security line, but bear in mind a few minutes will be needed to get through. Once at the gate there should be a bathroom and a vending machine for water and snacks.
